What is a balustrade?
A balustrade sounds like something fancy or complicated, but it is simply a series of columns topped by a rail to form a barrier. They’re most often found on stairs, balconies, and decks.
The colour palette of Ecoscape’s Graphite balustrades is inspired by the industrial tones of concrete. These are contemporary-style balustrades that are always in demand by those who want to bring their outdoor area into the twenty-first century. The graphite composite balustrades are composed of 55% regenerated wood fibres and 45% recycled HDPE. This material will not splinter or fracture, making it a safe option for providing robust and durable support in the garden.

A baluster is one of the many columns that hold up the horizontal rail of the balustrade. A balustrade refers to the system of rails and columns as a whole.
If your decking is over a certain height, you may be required to install balustrades as an additional safety measure. Generally, any decking over 600mm tall should be accompanied by decking balustrades of at least 1100mm height.
