Mineral Decking Features & Benefits

The mineral composite material provides 34% more surface traction than traditional timber decking, making the boards’ strength-to-weight ratio the best on the market. Each plank has a fade and stain-resistant surface, is fire certified, and will not rot, crack, chalk, or sag. The mineral decking range comes with a 25-year warranty.

We supply mineral decking boards in two stunning colours Sierra and Khaya - each of which is available in 140mm and 235mm panel widths, as well as fascia boards to cover the deck's under structure.

  • Strength-To-Weight Ratio Mineral based composite decking may be lightweight, but it is still highly sturdy and features a high weight capacity.
  • Durability Due to its unique composition & production process, mineral composite decking provides exceptional stability.
  • Low Maintenance Mineral WPC decking requires very little maintenance – an occasional sweep is all you need to do!
  • Zero Thermal Expansion Mineral decking does not expand or contract in heat, which is one of the top causes of splits and fractures.

Mineral Decking Technical Specification

Mineral Decking Technical Specification

Our mineral composite decking from Deckorators is available in two different widths:

  • 22mm (H) x 3660mm (L) x 140mm (W)
  • 22mm (H) x 3660mm (L) x 235mm (W)

Deckorators mineral composite decking is 35% lighter than alternative wood-plastic composite decking options. It also features very low absorption rates – the boards have less that 0.05% absorption after soaking in water for 24 hours.

Mineral composite decking is class C fire retardant, meaning that it is effective against light fire exposure.

Our mineral composite decking boards should be stored in the area they that will be installed for at least 3 days before installation, so that the material can acclimatise.

Mineral Decking Further Information

Deckorators mineral-based composite decking is the world's strongest decking solution. It is manufactured using a blend of innovative plastic polymers and long-lasting minerals that have been mixed and stretched (pull extruded). This method produces a fibre-like structure that is incredibly light and robust, with a strength-to-weight ratio equal to wood. Mold, rot, and insects are essentially non-existent on and within our mineral boards since they contain no wood fibres.

  • Easy to install
  • Anti-rot and cracking surface
  • Stain- and fade-resistant cap stock
  • Insects-resistant
  • Suitable for use as residential cladding
  • Suitable for use in ground or water installations
  • Eco-friendly

Does composite decking expand or contract with heat?

One of the main reasons for expansion and contraction is humidity. Mineral decking boards boast zero thermal expansion, and are ideal for use near water as they have textured embossing for a better grip.

Can mineral-based composites be used as a planter?

Due to its non-moisture-absorbing qualities, mineral decking can be used to build planters.

Does mineral composite decking fade?

Our mineral-based composites feature a stain- and fade-resistant cap, so you can rest assured that the colour won’t fade. It’s also supplied with 50-year structural, 25-year stain & fade, and 25-year removal & replacement warranties.

Mineral Decking Installation & Maintenance

We recommend using reverse-thread composite screws during installation – use colour-matched screws for seamless results. We also suggest a minimum of two fasteners per joist.
